Application Selection Criteria
The application window opens at 9 a.m. on Sept. 28 and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Students applying to the IB program should be aware that the following courses are required prior to the 9th grade year:
- Algebra I
- Spanish or French I
The following courses are preferred prior to the 9th grade year:
- World History and Geography I
- Earth Science

There will be informational sessions for all HCPS specialty centers on the following dates:
- September 12, 2026 from 11:00 - 2:00 PM at Highland Springs HS
- September 24, 2026 from 6:00-8:30 PM at J.R. Tucker High School

Please join us at our IB program Open House on Wednesday, October 30, 2026 at 6:30PM. At Open House, you will get to learn more about our courses, student experience, and life as a J.R. Tucker Tiger. The program will begin at 6:30PM in the Auditorium.
